Meniere’s disease can be very difficult to deal with. However, the tinnitus, vertigo, and hearing loss that characterize this vestibular disorder often have one common underlying cause—a misalignment of the upper cervical vertebrae. That means there is hope for those suffering from this condition. Consider the following study.
An upper cervical chiropractor worked with 139 Meniere’s patients. 136 of the patients saw a dramatic improvement in symptoms, particularly vertigo. The intensity of the condition had been an average of 8.5 out of 10 when the patients were surveyed before the study. By the end of the study, the average was a mere 1.4.
Other symptoms also improved for many of the patients. Many had dealt with nausea and vomiting. After receiving care, even those who continued to suffer from nausea no longer experienced vomiting. Also, vertigo attacks were not just less severe, but they didn’t last as long and patients recovered faster.

Another thing the patients had in common besides Meniere’s disease was that they all had experienced a whiplash-type injury, many in car accidents.
The fact is that a misalignment as small as just one-quarter of a millimeter can have dramatic effects. Upper cervical research has revealed that a misalignment can cause a lesion to form on the Eustachian tube. While this can take a decade or more, Meniere’s can be the result.
Once a misalignment is corrected, the body can start on the road to recovery. Really, it is far more efficient to search for the underlying cause of a condition that to take a different medication for each symptom. That makes upper cervical care a cost effective choice as well since the adjustments are long lasting which means fewer visits.
If you suffer from Meniere’s and have a history of trauma, a car accident or otherwise, be sure to give upper cervical care a try.
